Stirring Results at Hobart Fine Food Show 2008
Amidst hundreds of entries from all across Australia, Simply Stirred has been awarded five medals at the Royal Hobart Fine Food Show in August 2008. Deemed to be one of the most prestigious food events in the country, the judges awarded 3 gold and 2 silver medals to products in both the stir fry range and the dressing range.
"It isn't surprising that the Peanut and Lime Paste and the Blackbean and Pepper Paste won gold medals. They are outstanding flavours and are very popular", commented co-director of the company Llewelyn Richards. "And the judge's comments were spot-on".
Judges commented that the Peanut and Lime Paste has a great crunch and the lime is very subtle whilst the Blackbean and Pepper Paste has a very good blackbean flavour and a good balance to it.
But it was colour and flavour that won Gold for the uniquely different Vietnamese Mint and Coconut Dressing. It's a lively dressing that dances on the palate and evokes a light "summery" feeling.
Silver medals were awarded to the Chilli and Ginger Paste and the Schezuan and Kaffir Lime Paste. That makes two medals for both Chilli and Ginger and Blackbean, both having already earned a silver medal from Sydney Fine Food Show 2005.
The prestigious awards dinner was attended by business partner Peter Watson. "I was thrilled to be there when the awards were announced. These medals give us the greatest of confidence in what we are doing ,and a satisfied feeling that we are offering the consumer a top class product"
With new-look labelling and more exciting products on the planning schedule, Simply Stirred is certainly set to "stir up" the gourmet market.
